만물이 약동하는 경칩(驚蟄)을 지나, 매서운 추위를 뚫고 다시 봄이 찾아왔습니다. (재)횃불장학회 회원 여러분, 안녕하십니까? 이번 3월에는 나태주 시인의 서정과 가곡 '봄처녀'의 선율을 빌려 우리 주변의 소중한 이웃들, 특히 탈북민 가족들의 이야기를 전하고자 합니다.

현재 우리 곁에는 약 27,000명의 탈북민이 함께 살아가고 있습니다. 생존을 위해 국경을 넘었으나, 여전히 외로움과 생활고라는 높은 벽 앞에 서 있는 그들의 현실은 3월의 봄볕 아래서도 시리고 아픕니다.
저희 장학회는 고민합니다. 단순한 금전적 지원을 넘어, 그들이 우리 사회에 단단히 뿌리내릴 수 있는 방법은 무엇일까? 故 윤학자 원장님이 강조하셨던 '자립 기술 교육'의 중요성을 되새겨 봅니다. 이제는 교육지원을 넘어, 차별받지 않고 스스로 삶을 일궈낼 수 있는 '생존과 자립을 위한 교육'이 절실한 때입니다.

"Spring maiden is coming, dressed in clothes of new grass..."
Spring has returned, breaking through the harsh cold and passing the day of Gyeongchip (the awakening of insects), when all life begins to stir. Greetings to the members of the Torch Scholarship Foundation. This March, we wish to share the story of our neighbors—especially North Korean defector families—through the lyrical beauty of poet Na Tae-joo and the melody of the classic art song 'Spring Maiden.'
. Message of the Month: "Don't just give fish; teach how to fish."
Today, approximately 27,000 North Korean defectors live among us. Although they crossed borders for survival, many still face the cold reality of loneliness and economic hardship, which remains painful even under the warm March sun.
Our foundation is reflecting deeply: beyond simple financial aid, how can we help them truly take root in our society? We remember the late Yun Hak-ja, director of 'Mokpo Gongsaengwon,' who emphasized the importance of vocational and technical training for the independence of youth leaving care facilities. We believe that for North Korean defector youth, education focused on practical skills and survival—allowing them to stand on their own without discrimination—is more urgent than ever.

万物が躍動する「驚蟄（けいちつ）」を過ぎ、厳しい寒さを突き抜けて再び春が訪れました。（財）횃불（フェップル）奨学会の会員の皆様、いかがお過ごしでしょうか。この3月は、ナ・テジュ詩人の抒情的な詩と名曲『春の乙女（ポムチョニョ）』の旋律に乗せて、私たちの身近な隣人、特に脱北者家族の物語をお伝えしたいと思います。
. 今月のメッセージ：「魚を与えるのではなく、魚の釣り方を教えること」
現在、私たちの傍らには約27,000人の脱北者の方々が共に暮らしています。生きるために国境を越えましたが、依然として孤独や生活苦という高い壁に直面している彼らの現実は、3月の春の日差しの下でも凍えるほどに痛切です。
当奨学会は考えます。単なる金銭的な支援を超え、彼らが韓国社会にしっかりと根を下ろすための方法は何だろうか？「木浦共生園」の園長、故・**尹鶴子（ユン・ハクジャ）**先生が強調された、自立のための「技術教育」の重要性を改めて噛み締めています。今や教育支援を超え、差別を受けることなく自ら人生を切り拓いていける、技術分野の教育や生存に必要な教育こそが切実に求められています。
